Alistair is an architect based in Cardiff, Wales, and a member of Gaunt Francis Architects, a creative commercial design studio with projects across the UK. He grew up in Oxfordshire, and undertook an art and design foundation course in South Devon before completing his architectural education at the Welsh School of Architecture.

His principal interests are in the historic built environment, in conservation, and in the adaptive re-use, refurbishment, retrofit and extension of existing buildings. Whatever their scale, these projects offer unique design challenges both spacial and technical, whilst also providing an opportunity to contribute to a broader sustainability agenda.

Alistair is a registrant on the RIBA Conservation Register, and is working towards formal accreditation through the various projects with which he is involved.
